There are three ways to create a sample space for a compound event.

1) Ordered List:  The events can be written as a list.

2) Table: A table is a way to representing the sample space of a compound event and it does so very clearly.
3) Tree Diagram: A tree diagram shows the events of a sample space as the leaves of the tree diagram.

Which step brings you closest to getting the variable alone on one side of the equation
Oliga [24]

Answer:

Adding 5 from both sides then dividing by 7

Step-by-step explanation:

The best way to isolate x is to add 5 to both sides first:

21 = 7x

Then to isolate x by itself divide both sides by 7

x = 3

That would be the value of x and your final answer.

Like terms and unlike terms
vaieri [72.5K]

Answer:

In algebra, like terms are terms that have the same variables and powers. The coefficients do not need to match.

Unlike terms are two or more terms that are not like terms, i.e. they do not have the same variables or powers. The order of the variables does not matter unless there is a power. For example, 8xyz2 and −5xyz2 are like terms because they have the same variables and power while 3abc and 3ghi are unlike terms because they have different variables. Since the coefficient doesn't affect likeness, all

What is the range of possible sizes for side x? _ < x < _
allochka39001 [22]

Answer:

  0.5 < x < 16.5

Step-by-step explanation:

The third side of the triangle must be longer than the difference of the other two sides:

  x > (8.5 -8.0)

  x > 0.5

And it must be shorter than their sum:

  x < (8.5 +8.0)

  x < 16.5

The third side must be in the range ...

  0.5 < x < 16.5

_____

These limits are a direct consequence of the triangle inequality, which requires the sum of the two shortest sides exceed the length of the longest side.
