The Stamp Act was a order given by the British crown that all printed goods in America must be printed on paper from London and carry a revenue stamp on the paper products. The Sugar act was a tax on sugar enacted to bring revenue to the British, since they were fighting a war with the French, funds were needed.

The Stamp Act put a law stating taxes (stamps) had to be put on every article item, from newspapers to a deck of cards to a marriage document.

However, the Sugar Act put a law stating taxes had to be put on imports such as sugar and molasses instead. Additional goods were also taxed such as coffee.

Answer:

Canada's entry into the Cold War came with the disclosure in 1946 of a spy ring led by Igor Gouzenko. Which reason best highlights why amendments to the Social Security Act (SSA) were made?
Elza [17]
The biggest reason behind changes to the Social Security Act (in 1939) was to make sure this program helped more people in American society. One of the amendments made to the Social Security Act was the implementation of survivor benefits. If a person was to die unexpectedly and had paid into the system, family members would be able to receive the money owed to that person who passed away unexpectedly.

Besides survivor benefits, retired workers collecting Social Security could set up a payment system where their children or spouse received money as well. All of these changes lead to Social Security having a more positive affect on the American family as a whole.
