The quote suggests that independence must be taken, it can not be won.

Independence according to Paine had to be "declared" meaning the colonists had to take their independence. It is not an action and it certainly will not be given to the colonists. He doesn't want the colonies to miss an opportunity to declare their intentions. If the colonists declare independence then it has to be taken from them instead of given.

Common Sense was written by Thomas Paine and argued that independence was necessary for the colonists to ever be free. He argued that the biggest problem was the English Constitution and therefore as long as the colonists remained colonies they would never have the rights they wanted.

Did Jewish people believe that Jesus Christ was the son of God?
azamat

Answer:

Majority, no

Explanation:

Historically, many believed that Jesus was a prophet of GOD, or at best a teacher (of the law). Many Jews living during the age did not believe that the coming of Christ would occur while they were alive, and they essentially betrayed Jesus to be crucified. Of the few that believed, many were still doubtful, and needed ground and reasons to continue in their faith. However, there were instances of the belief of Jewish People, but it is rarely. Many followers were actually those who were not of higher class in the hierarchy of the class structure made during the Roman rule. Towards the end of Jesus's death, we see that most Jews regret eliminating him, but in a sense still did not believe.

attashe74 [19]

As I'm sure you know, Roger Williams was the founder of Rhode Island. He was banished from Massachusetts because he spoke out against government  punishing religious disagreement (disagreeing with the church) and the right to confiscate Native American Land.
