to solve  for the dimensions (x+7)(x+2)=66,

we can first use the foiling method to simplify the left side.

x^2 + 2x + 7x + 14 = 66

x^2 + 9x + 14 = 66

now, subtract 66 from both sides.

x^2 + 9x - 52 = 0

now, split this into two parentheses.

(x + 13)(x - 4)

since the root of -13 would give you negative values, x=4. This means that the dimensions of the rectangle are 11 and 6.

Help me iv been trying from this morning
GalinKa [24]

Answer:

i did the first

Step-by-step explanation:

1st way

Standard form: a(X-h)²+k = ( -2/3X² -16/3X -32/3) +32/3 -17/3 = -2/3(X +4)² +5

y = -2/3*X^2-16/3*X-17/3

X = -4 ±√( 15/2) = -6.7386, or -1.2614

Axis of symmetry: X= -4; Vertex (maximum)=(h,k)=( -4, 5); y-intercept is (0,-5.66666666667)

two real roots: X=-1.2613872124776866 and -6.738612787477313

49–2ax –a^2–x^2 factor
vampirchik [111]

49–2ax –a^2–x^2

Extract the negative sign

= 49 - (a^2 +2ax +x^2)

Factor using a^2 + 2ab + b^2 = (a+b)^2

= 49 - (a+x)^2

Factor using a^2 - b^2 = (a-b)(a+b)

= ( 7- (a + x)) * (7 + (a + x))

= ( 7- a - x) * (7 + a + x)

Find the slope of the graph of y=−45x−2.
andriy [413]

Answer:

The slope in this equation is 45.

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope-intercept form: y = mx + b

m = slope

b = y-intercept

x = variable

y = mx + b\\y = -45x -2

What is the median for the following set of data? 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11
Inessa05 [86]

Answer:

The median value will be 8.

Step-by-step explanation:

The simplest way to think of a median is as a sort of "middle" value. We want to arrange our numbers from lowest to highest, then select the one in the middle. Here is another example:

3, 5, 2, 7, 3, 9, 1, 4, 7

The first step is to order these numbers from lowest to highest, like so:

1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 7, 7, 9

The number in the middle of this set is 4.

The problem you have presented, as well as the above example, both deal with an odd amount of numbers. Your problem has seven numbers, and the example I gave has nine. For any odd amount of numbers, the median is the value in the middle. But what about an even amount of numbers?

Consider:

9, 4, 3, 7

Let's rearrange this:

3, 4, 7, 9

Now, there will be two "middle" values: 4 and 7. The median value will be the average of these two values:

\text{median} = \frac{4 + 7}{2} = \frac{11}{2} = 5.5

I hope that helps!
