Why are the 1920s known as the Roaring Twenties?
choli [55]
A: It was a period of rapid economic and social transformation.

The Roaring Twenties saw immense economic and social change occurring in the United States of America. The availability of easy credit meant that newer inventions such as the automobile and radio (and many others) became commonplace in American households which in turn dramatically changed the social landscape of the country.

Why did settling in plymouth in late 1620 pose significant problems for the pilgrims?
Nadusha1986 [10]
This is because the pilgrims didn't have the right to create a colony and at the same time they were not sure how to work around with the Separatists who were with them on the voyage. Because of this, the British colony had ratified and drafted a social contract that allows the Pilgrims and the Separatists to create a colony and a contract on how both parties should act with each other inside the colony

Which statement best characterizes a dictatorship?
Anni [7]
Which statement best characterizes a dictatorship?

The answer is that the leader maintains power by force.

Hitler, for example.
He wasn't born into power. He was an ordinary guy with a bad haircut that joined a party in Germany called the "Nazi's Party". It was after World War 1 that many turned to extreme decisions and leaders, and Hitler was chosen as Chancellor after he had done things that would surprise a nation. (He tried overthrowing Germany's regime for instance and was jailed for treason). People turned to him because he made them feel good about their race, and they wanted someone whom could take them out of the poverty they were facing after Germany was in debt.

In general, dictators tend to use force to control, and usually get rid of any political opposition. Those are the characteristics.

I really do hope this helps. :)
