History

Archaeologists believe that seals are used in preference of signatures for personal documents or any transaction requiring an acknowledgement. Based on history, East Asian people work with handprints and fingerprints for signatures by the use of clay then engraved on paper. But handprints and fingerprints were only applicable for a person attaching his signature on the document. On the other hand, seals were used and still often linked with an office or family documents be in need of acknowledgement or authorship.

What did the Virginia Resolution propose?
Zina [86]

Explanation:

The Virginia Resolution, authored by Madison, said that by enacting the Alien and Sedition Acts, Congress was exercising “a power not delegated by the Constitution, but on the contrary, expressly and positively forbidden by one of the amendments thereto; a power, which more than any other, ought to produce universal alarm because it is levelled against that right of freely examining public characters and measures and of free communication among the people, there on, which has ever been justly deemed, the only effectual guardian of every other right.

Examine the factors that contributed to the resurgence of conservatism in American politics and government from 1964 to the end
valkas [14]

Answer:

In the late 1950s and early 1960s conservatives were widely dismissed as "kooks" and "crackpots" with no hope of winning political power. In 1950 the literary critic Lionel Trilling spoke for a generation of scholars and journalists when he wrote that "in the United States at this time liberalism is not only the dominant but even the sole intellectual tradition.... It is the plain fact [that] there are no conservative or reactionary ideas in general circulation" but only "irritable mental gestures which seem to resemble ideas." The historian Richard Hofstadter echoed Trilling's assessment, arguing that the right was not a serious, long-term political movement but rather a transitory phenomenon led by irrational, paranoid people who were angry at the changes taking place in America.
