Do you think Roosevelt's experience with polio changed his personality and politics?

Having polio Roosevelt realized just how easlily life can be lost. This changed the way he though of certain things such as politics.

He made programs to help people medically. This things were part of the New Deal. He made medical care more affordable and accessable.

As far as his personality changing he bacame more appreciative of life. Polio could've taken his life, and he realized that. He didn't want to take life for granted.
