An aim to preserve, protect, and maintain the paintings, as well as to restore and redevelop the older ones or paint new ones, was sponsored and supported in the early 1990s by the city's painters, artists, and the Junior League, which also produced and published a brochure entitled Los Murales, Guide and Maps to the Murals of El Paso.
