Let's start with A.

The input is 4 so it will be f(4) = (4)²-1 because 4 > 0.

f(4) = (4)² - 1 = 16 - 1 = 15 so A is false.

B)

The input is -1 so it will be f(-1) = -(-1) + 1 because -1 < 0
f(-1) = -(-1) + 1 = 2

So B is true.

C)

1 > 0 so f(1) = (1)² - 1 = 0, so C is true.

D)

-2 < 0 so f(-2) = -(-2) + 1 = 3 so D is false.

Final answer: B and C

Hope this helps.

A company surveyed 1000 people on their age and the number of jeans purchased annually. The results of the poll are shown in the
Solnce55 [7]

Answer:

a) 0.437; b) 0.291

Step-by-step explanation:

For part a,

There are 280+210 = 490 people that are over 18 years old.  Out of these, 119+95 = 214 purchase 2 pairs of jeans annually.  This is

214/490 ≈ 0.437

For part b,

There are 87+69+74+11 = 241 people who purchase 3 or more pairs of jeans.  There were a total of 220+290+280+210 = 1000 people; this means there were 759 people tho purchased fewer than 3 pairs of jeans.

Out of these, 21+74+126 = 221 were in the age group 12-18.  This gives us

221/759 ≈ 0.291

Two urs contain white balls and yellow balls. The first urn contains 2 white balls and 7 yellow balls and the second urn contain
JulsSmile [24]

Answer:

2/39

Step-by-step explanation:

2 of the 9 balls in the first urn are white.  3 of the 13 balls in the second urn are white.  The probability that a ball randomly selected from each are both white is the product:

P(A and B) = P(A) P(B)

P = (2/9) (3/13)

P = 2/39

P ≈ 5.13%

Solve number 3 please :)
nikdorinn [45]

Answer/Step-by-step explanation:

Function A has a rate of change of 10 and function B has a rate of change of 5, so function A has a greater rate of change.

y = mx + b

The slope also known as rate of change is represented as the variable m in y = mx + b. So whatever number replacing m is the rate of change. In this problem 10 is the slope or rate of change.

In a graph, rate of change is determined by the rate in which the output is increasing or decreasing compared to the increase or decrease of the input. In this graph for every 1x added 5y is decreased. So, the rate of change is 5.
