The tropical rainforest is the biome which receives maximum rainfall as compared to other biomes of the world. This biome receives average rainfall of 60 mm per year. As a result of this the biome is dominated by large diversity of trees of typical height of 80 feet. These trees exhibit dense and wide canopy which shields the sunlight entering the forests. The forests soil receives about only 2% of the sunlight. The plants which are adapted to low light can survive in this region.
