The Kennewick Man is the name given to the skeletal remains of a Paleoamerican man found in Kennewick, Washington, United States in 1996. The discovery of the Kennewick man challenged previously held ideas about immigration to America. The Kennewick man appears to be more closely related to Polynesians and the Ainu people of Japan than to Asian people who crossed over from Asia to Beringia. This suggests that there could have been more than one source of immigration of humans to America.

Why did the colonists start wearing moccasins
xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

Woven sandals, boots, and leggings attached to shoes have also been produced by Native Americans. The origins of moccasins go back to the cold, harsh climates of man's past that made it necessary to make protective footwear. Wearing moccasins or boots would have been essential to keep feet from freezing.
