Back in 1970 a census was taken which counted just over 1100 black women having PHDs and considering themselves mathamaticians. Today, the number has grown nearly ten fold to almost 10,000 black women with PHDs in mathematics. The number is far too low and hopefully more black women will be inspired to pursue PHDs in math.

The settlement of Kentucky in 1775 was a direct result of
kozerog [31]

The settlement of Kentucky came from the idea of western movement of migration that lured the 18th century mind of the American population. And it was a direct result of the creation of the Wilderness Road.

Daniel Boone was the first man responsible to follow a narrow foot trail used by buffaloes, deer, and Indians that took him through the Cumberland gap in southwestern Virginia. In 1775 he and thirty woodsmen used axes to extend the Warriors’ Path into what became known as the Wilderness Road, a passage that more than three hundred thousand settlers would use to create the settlement of Kentucky.

What ways was Rome’s location similar to that of Constantinople?
ira [324]

Answer:

Explanation: The only similarity was that both had seven hills, but even these were quite different. For Constantine his making of a new capital for the eastern part of the empire served a good Propaganda tool. The city was presented as the mark of the dawn of a new era under his rule. Tittles such the second Rome, the new Rome, the eastern Rome and Alma Roma were used to glorify the undertaking. Constantine did model the new city on Rome. But all new towns were modelled on Rome in their civic area, and this did not necessarily make them look like Rome
