Jazz scholar Nathan Davis asks,“What kind of music might we have had if African slaves had been taken to China or Japan or any o

ther part of Asia instead of to the Americas? On the other hand, what would have been the results if the Africans had been the captors and supplied various African territories with European slaves?” Offer your opinions below.

The potential music would certainly be an interesting thing to hear. Combining the tonalities of Africa and East Asia would have definitely yielded music with interesting poly-rhythms and sound quality. Likewise, the hypothetical import of European musical ideas into the African continent would result in another diverse pattern of poly-rhythms; this time, with the mono-rhythmic tones of European society up to that point.

In your own words and using the information in the article above, explain why it is important to ensure judges can be held accou
Mama L [17]

Answer:

Judicial accountability ensures that justice is rendered according to the law. Judicial accountability measures are essential to protect the proper application of the Rule of Law, a cornerstone of Canada's constitutional democracy. Judicial independence does not give judges the right to do whatever they wish. It is vitally important in a democracy that individual judges and the judiciary as a whole are impartial and independent of all external pressures and of each other so that those who appear before them and the wider public can have confidence that their cases will be decided fairly and in accordance with the law.

What can happen if the national government was extremely powerful?
Ivanshal [37]
If the government is to powerful then the ideals of a democracy is pointless because the people will not have a voice in the government and the government will control everything. In addition, the nation will turn into a dictatorship because the people cannot vote for who will be in the government.

What do writs of assistance and the Quartering Acts have in common?
Tanya [424]

Answer: both led to a loss of civil liberties for colonists

Explanation:

The Writs of Assistance allowed British colonial customs officers in Colonial America to enforce trade laws by being able to search any ship or house that they suspected might be harboring smuggled goods.

The Quartering Acts were laws that made it the responsibility of local governments in Colonial America to feed and shelter British soldiers which led to British soldier sometimes sleeping in people's houses.

Both these Acts led to the loss of civil liberties for the colonists who had to allow the British into their homes at the behest of the British.
