Deviance is a violation of social norms. It is hard to detect deviance because not everyone is agreed on what is deviant behavior.

There are many spheres of behaviors that are considered as deviance, like crime, but behavior as riding a bike on the pedestrian side for some people is deviance and for some people is not.
