Established in 1933, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) was the creation of President Fraklin D. Roosevelt as part of his New Deal Program to counter-attack the effects of the Great Depression in the United States. So if the TVA had never been created, the Tennessee Valley would be different from what is today due to the fact that Roosevelt improved the conditions of this region by creating jobs and constructing power plants to bring electricity to this once poor region of the US. It became the first federal electricity company and really played a great role in the development of this rural part of America.
