What is the inverse of the function f(x) = 4x + 8? h(x) = x – 2 h(x) = x + 2 h(x) = x – 2 h(x) = x + 2
melomori [17]
F(x) = 4x + 8

Find x in terms of f(x):-

4x = f(x) - 8
x = (f(x) - 8 )  /  4

replace x by h(x) and f(x) by x

h(x) = (x - 8 ) /4

I cant get any of the choices

Which two functions are inverses of each other?
guapka [62]

Answer:

The choices were typed wrong, but we can find the inverse of each option.

For function f(x)=x the inverse is the same function g(x)=x, because an inverse of a function is where their composition gives the independent variable as unique result.

If we do that with each function, we have:

f((g(x))=x; where f(x)=x and g(x)=x, we have

f((g(x))=x\\x=x

So they are inverse.

For f(x)=2x its inverse would be g(x)=\frac{1}{2}x, because

f(g(x))=2(\frac{1}{2}x)=x

For f(x)=4x, its inverse is g(x)=\frac{1}{4}x, because

f(g(x))=4(\frac{1}{4}x)=x

For f(x)=-8x, its inverse is g(x)=-\frac{1}{8}x, because

f(g(x))=-8(-\frac{1}{8}x)=x

There you have all inverses. Basically, if their composition results in x, that means they are inverse.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

There are no solutions to this equation

3 + 6z = 13 + 6z              Subtract 6z from both sides

  - 6z =       - 6z

3 = 13

There is no way on this planet using this numbering system that you can get 3 = to 13

A student says that the value of the expression 5 + 25 /5 is 6.What error did the student make?
STALIN [3.7K]
The answer is 10 because the student student did not follow order of op. This means that the student added 25 and 5 together then dived that. However he should have divided 25 by 5 first and then added 5
