Within eukaryotic cells, there is a network of organelles which have unique functions.
An organelle is termed as a specialized subunit within a cell which has specific functions and their functions are very vital for a cell to live. Organelles can be identified by microscopy and purified by cell fractionation.
In eukaryotic cells has many types of organelles. Larger organelles which are found in eukaryotic cells are visible with the light microscope, for example, vacuole and nucleus.
Some of the major eukaryotic organelles include plastid, endoplasmic reticulum, flagellum, mitochondrion, vacuole, nucleus and Golgi apparatus

Within eukaryotic cells, there is a network of organelles that have unique functions.

Further Explanation:

An ecosystem is made up of mainly two kinds of cells:

 • Eukaryotes cells: They mainly consist of a group of animals, fungi, and plants.
 • Prokaryotes cells: They mainly consist of bacteria and archaea.

Some main features of eukaryotic cells are:

 • They consist of membrane-bound organelles and nucleus
 • The DNA of a eukaryotic cell is present inside the nucleus of a cell.
 • The nucleus that is surrounded by a membrane is referred to as a true nucleus.

Specialized sections present inside the eukaryotic cells are called organelles. Different functions are performed by different organelles inside the cell. They are the specialized unit in eukaryotes and play several important functions for a cell to survive. Organelles can easily visualize by a microscope and can isolate by cell fractionation method.

The eukaryotic cell has a different type of organelle and plays a specific function for example

 • Endoplasmic reticulum: They help in synthesizing protein and lipids.
 • Mitochondrion: It produces energy and is called the powerhouse of the cell.
 • Golgi apparatus: It helps in packaging and modification of a protein.
 • Chloroplast: It helps in photosynthesis.
 • Nucleus: It contains the genetic material of a cell.
 • Vacuole: It contains cell sap.
