We want to get rid of the square root sign somehow, so let's isolate that term.

2\sqrt{\frac{3x}{5}} + 3 = 11
2\sqrt{\frac{3x}{5}} = 11 - 3 = 8
\sqrt{\frac{3x}{5}} = 4

Now, in order to 'undo' a root sign, we need to do the opposite to it, by squaring the term, but in order for it to remain the same, we need to square 4 as well.

\frac{3x}{5} = 16

Now, we can isolate the variable:
3x = 5 \cdot 16 = 80
x = \frac{80}{3}, and since we can't simplify this further, our final answer becomes:

x = \frac{80}{3} or x = 26\frac{2}{3}

Alan's go kart travels 1750 feet per minute and Barry's go kart travels 21 miles per hour whose go kart travels faster round you
krok68 [10]

Answer:

Barry's kart is faster as he goes 21 Mph while Alan only goes 19.89 Mph.

Step-by-step explanation:

First to get this answer we need to convert feet per minute to miles per hour. So we multiple 1750 feet per minute by 60 to get a hour. This gets up 105000 total feet in a hour. Now we need to divide this by 5280, which is how long a mile is, to get 19.89 miles which is how many miles he travels in a hour making him travel 19.89 mph which is less than 21 making Barry faster.

Rectangular windows are being made into a wall of windows for an office building. Each wall is 14 feet tall and 12 feet wide. Th
Artemon [7]

Answer:

  168/(x² +7x)

Step-by-step explanation:

The height of each window is 14/(x+7), and the width of each window is 12/x. The area of each window is the product of its height ans width:

  area = (14/(x+7))(12/x) = 168/(x(x +7))

  area = 168/(x² +7x)

_____

<em>Comment on the problem</em>

There is not enough information given to determine suitable values for x. If x is 42, each window is a square 3 3/7 inches on a side.
