The <em><u>correct answer</u></em> is:

Divide the total price by the number of units.

Explanation:

If we have an item that weighs 12 pounds that costs $24, to find the cost per pound (unit cost) we would divide the total, 24, by the number of units, 12 (since there are 12 pounds in the item). This would give us 24/12 = $2 per pound.

I'm just going to pick some random numbers so that can show you the way I do it.

lets the item ways 5 pounds and costs 8 dollars

now if you wanted to find the unit price by the pound you can divide the cost by the weight, or if you wanted it by ounces you could then convert that number down to ounces

8 / 5 = $1.60 per pounds then that would be 160 cents divided by 80 ounces which would be 20 cent peer ounce

Find the first five terms of the recursive sequence <br> an=-6an-1 where a1=4.5
grandymaker [24]

Answer:

4.5, -27, 162,-972, 5832

Step-by-step explanation:

The given recursive definition is,

a_n=-6a_{n-1}, a_1=4.5

This will form a geometric sequence with first term 4.5 and common ratio r=-6.

When n=2, we have:

a_2=-6a_1 \\  \implies \: a_2=-6 \times 4.5 =  - 27

When n=3, we get:

a_3=-6a_2 \\  \implies \: a_3=-6 \times  - 27 =  162

When n=4, we get:

a_4=-6a_3 \\  \implies \: a_4=-6 \times 162 =  - 972

When n=5, we get:

a_5=-6a_4 \\  \implies \: a_5=-6 \times  - 972 = 5832

Therefore the first five terms are:

4.5, -27, 162,-972, 5832

What is the first step in factoring polynomials
Evgen [1.6K]

Answer:

Factor out the greatest common factor

Step-by-step explanation:

The first step when factoring any polynomial is to factor out the GCF. The GCF is the greatest common factor for all the terms of the polynomial. By factoring out the GCF first, the coefficients and constant term of the polynomial will be reduced.
