I'm just going to pick some random numbers so that can show you the way I do it.  

lets the item ways 5 pounds and costs 8 dollars

now if you wanted to find the unit price by the pound you can divide the cost by the weight, or if you wanted it by ounces you could then convert that number down to ounces

8 / 5 = $1.60 per pounds then that would be 160 cents divided by 80 ounces which would be 20 cent peer ounce
