ANSWER:

The territory of Louisiana was purchased and acquired by the United States of America from France in "1803".

EXPLANATION:

 • A total sum of fifteen million dollars was paid by the government of U.S for the purchase of Louisiana territorty. The "kingdom of France" ruled and control Louisiana from "1699" until it was lost to Spain during the war in 1762.
 • The French again gained control of the territory during the Napoleon era in 1800. The fear of war with the British prompted Napoleon to consider selling the "territory of Louisiana" to the United States.

In what way was it difficult to amend the Articles of Confederation?
Leokris [45]
The Articles required unanimous consent to any amendment, so all 13 states would need to agree on a change. Given the rivalries between the states, that rule made the Articles impossible to adapt after the war ended with Britain in 1783.
