According to the continental drift theory ( evolution theory) the earth initially existed as one continent before drifting and moving apart to their current positions. This theory is accounted for by discovery of identical fossils in south america and Africa showing that the two were once one big land mass together with other continents. In addition discoveries of presence of identical fish species in different waters in long separated lakes of various continents also supported the existence of a single original continent.
