Why did Athens have olive oil and wine to trade with other places?
geniusboy [140]

Athens is located in Greece, and Greece is a country that has a Mediterranean climate. The Mediterranean climate, as well as the soil type in Greece, is a natural place for the growth of olive trees and wine trees that produce fruits of high quality. Athens used this, and by making products from both of these trees, olive oil from the olive trees, and wine from the wine trees, they were making a lot of wealth because of this products were in high demand and not many places had the conditions for growing these trees and making products from them. Also Athens was very active in the sea trade and had contacts all over the Mediterranean, and that just opened up a larger market for their products.

Which challenge did Thomas Nast face during his efforts to expose the corruption of Tammany Hall?
schepotkina [342]

The correct answer is:

B.The Tammany Hall bosses tried to bribe him and threatened his life.

Thomas Nast rose to fame in the late 1860s when his satirical comics led directly to the arrest of Boss Tweed, for the corrupted “Tweed Ring” he ran in New York City bribing city officials, rigging elections, and corrupting the judiciary.

Tweed attempted to bribe Nast offering him up to $500,000 to study art in Europe. Failing to bribe Nast, Tweed threatened to have the Board of Elections boycott Harper’s books, where Nast worked, but the magazine´s board chose to support the cartoonist depicting Tweed as a thief.

In the Supreme Court ruling in this case, how did it impact other state laws
blsea [12.9K]

Answer: When a neighboring state changes a law, those that are violating it will either cease or move. In this case, a same sex couple will most likely move to a neighboring state (unless they want to try to put up a fight with the officials). Then that state may be influenced and copy that law banning same sex marriage. The more this happens, states that don`t ban it will be "safe-states" for those couples. This process may continue and affect even more neighboring states. In fact, it can happen with any law. I`m not all that smart on this subject, and I would paste the link here, but Brainly won`t let me. Hope this helped, if not comment if you have questions

Why is Jordan called the Hashemite Kingdom?
Schach [20]

Answer:

The Hashemite name is derived from Hashem, a grandson of Qusai and the great-grandfather of the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him). The Hashemites of Jordan are thus direct descendants of the Prophet through his daughter, Fatima, and her husband, Ali.
