The general equation for slope-intercept form is y = mx + b, where m = the slope of the equation, b = the y intercept, and x and y are your variables (and the coordinate points on the graph).

To get 2x - y = 6 into slope intercept form, you want a positive y on one side of the equal sign, and x and your y intercept/constant on the other side of the equal sign.
1) Add y to both sides of the equation to get a positive y:
2x - y = 6\\
2x = y + 6

2) Subtract six from both sides of the equation to get y by itself on one side of the equal sign:
2x = y + 6\\
y = 2x - 6

The equation in slope-intercept form is: y = 2x - 6

The converted form will be y = x - 6/2 or it could be written as y = x - 3/1

Answer:

1. 1/3

2. 1/6

Step-by-step explanation:

1. 1/3 chance of getting a 3 or 4

2.

2 red

3 blue

4 green

The chance of Niki getting green on her first try is 4/9

The chance of Tom getting blue after Niki picks, is 3/8

4/9*3/8= 12/72

12/72=1/6

Find the point on the terminal side of θ = 3pi/4 that has a y coordinate of 1. Show your work for full credit.
bagirrra123 [75]
Ok, we know the angle is 3π/4, and that y-coordinate is 1, hmm what's "x"?

\bf tan(\theta)=\cfrac{y}{x}\qquad tan\left( \frac{3\pi }{4} \right)=\cfrac{1}{x}\implies \cfrac{sin\left( \frac{3\pi }{4} \right)}{cos\left( \frac{3\pi }{4} \right)}=\cfrac{1}{x}\implies \cfrac{\frac{\sqrt{2}}{2}}{-\frac{\sqrt{2}}{2}}=\cfrac{1}{x}

-1=\cfrac{1}{x}\implies x=-1\qquad \qquad \boxed{(-1,1)}
