Ok so here are some of the themes (topic sentences) that war of the worlds addressed. (One of my fav books btw ;P)

1. Foolishness and Folly - Some argue that the Martians are foolish for coming to Earth without protection. Basically the Mercy of Nature.

2. Fear - You could show the fear that Wells put into his characters.

3. Technology and Modernization - The Martians simply have better tech than 19th Century humans do.

4. Fate and Free Will - There is a lot of Biblical-sounding language in War of The Worlds

How is the freedom of white people inextricably bound to that of black people?
Kay [80]

unlike white people at that time, rights were decided merely by the color of a person’s skin. Black people did not have the same rights as white people. They couldn’t use the same bathrooms, participate in sports with white kids, or ride on the front of the bus. Jim Crow laws forced whites and blacks to live separately and not intermingle. It was even against the law for persons of different races to marry each other.

How does the narrator feel about Stargirl’s lunchroom antics? Cite specific evidence from the first three paragraphs in the exce
Alex777 [14]

Answer:

Just copy and paste what I said in the expanation.

Explanation:

He feels a little awkward and embarrassed by describing what she does. In paragraph 1 he says that she wore bright-red-baggy shorts with a bib and overall straps-overall shorts.

In paragraph 2 he says that she took her ukulele but she didn't play anything. She got up and started walking around among the tables. She stared at us. She stared at one's face, then another.

paragraph 3 he says that she approached their table.  He thought "what if she's looking for me?" The thought terrified me. SO I turned from her.  I looked at Kevin. I watched him grin goofily up at her. He wiggled his fingers at her and whispered, "Hi, Stargirl." I didn't hear an answer. I was intensely aware of her passing behind my chair.
