I can’t figure this problem out
Natalka [10]

Answer:

Explanation:

Alright so the way to do this is to use properties of integrals to make our life easier.

So we have:

\int\limits^4_1 {(3f(x)+2)} \, dx

So lets break this up into two different integrals that represent the same area.

\int\limits^4_0 {f(x)} \, dx - \int\limits^1_0 {f(x)} \, dx = \int\limits^4_1 {f(x)} \, dx

Lets think about what is going on up there. The integral from four to zero gives us the area under the curve of f(x) from four to zero. If we subtract this from the integral from one to zero (the area under f from one to zero) we are left with the area under f from four to one! Hence:

\int\limits^4_1 {f(x)} \, dx

But since we have these values we can say that:

-3 - 2 = -5

Which means that \int\limits^4_1 {f(x)} \, dx = -5

So now we can evaluate \int\limits^4_1 {(3f(x)+2)} \, dx

Lets first break up our integrand into two integrals

\int\limits^4_1 {(3f(x)+2)} \, dx = 3\int\limits^4_1{f(x)} \, dx + 2\int\limits^4_1 {} \, dx

Now we can evaluate this:

We know that \int\limits^4_1 {f(x)} \, dx = -5

So:

3(-5)+2[x] where x is evaluated at 4 to 1 so

-15 + 2(3)

So we are left with -15 + 6 = -9

If there were no air resistance, with what speed would drops hit the Earth if they fell from a cloud 3063 m above the Earth’s su
schepotkina [342]

Answer:

Explanation:

One

d = 3063 m

a = 10 m/s^2

vi = 0

vf = ?

vf^2 = vi^2 + 2*a*d

vf^2 = 2*10*3063

√vf^2 = √61260

vf = 247.51 m/s

Two

vi = 0

vf = ?

a = 10 m/s^2

t = 18 s

a = (vf - vi) / t

10 = (vf - 0) / 18

10 * 18 = vf

180 m/s = vf

The purpose of doing a secondary survey on this victim is to: Look for any potentially life threatening injuries.

<h3>What is secondary survey?</h3>

Secondary survey are body survey carried out on a victim so as to detect any form of life threatening injuries and this survey is carried out by examining the whole body of the victim.

Life-threatening injuries are injuries that can lead to death if not diagnosed and treated.

Based on the information given carrying out secondary survey on this victim as the victim may have apparent injury.

Hence, secondary survey is important as it will help to detect any  life threatening injuries that may not be immediately visible.

Example of  life-threatening injuries includes:

  • Head injury
  • Skull fractures
  • Neck injury
  • Spinal cord injury etc
