The answer is a social group. A set of people who interact on the basis of shared expectations and who possess some degree of common identity is a social group.

EXPLANATION

In the field of sociology, a social group is two or more people that interact with each other. Members of a social group usually have similar characteristics. They also have a sense of unity towards each other. In conclusion, a social group is made from the interdependency of each member and similarity.

A social group is not defined by size. A group can be as small as two and as large as a community. It is still called a social group even though it comes from different sizes or varieties. A social group also exhibits some degree of social cohesion. It is more than just a group of people that are standing in line to by food, or a group of people that are waiting for a bus to come. A social group needs similarity in it, either similarity in purpose, hobbies, values, representations, kinship ties, social background, or even ethnic.

Kinship ties between people can be acquired from marriage, adoption, or common ancestry. Some researchers even consider defining the social group as social interaction. According to research, average people can’t maintain a stable social relationship if it is more than 150 people.
