How does the introduction of invasive species, such as the brown tree snake, upset the stability of an ecosystem?

Answer:

Some problems caused by invasive especies:

  • Competition for resources
  • Diseases and pests
  • Local extinction of a species

Explanation:

Invasive species are alien species that proliferate uncontrollably, threatening the balance of an ecosystem. We define as exotic species those that are outside their usual place.

Invasive species did not live in that area, so they usually have no predators. The lack of natural enemies causes these species to reproduce uncontrollably, increasing the size of the population. The increase in exotic population directly affects the ecosystem.

Invasive species usually have large populations, which end up getting more resources than smaller populations. This makes these species stand out over native species when it comes to competition for resources, undermining local balance. We must not forget that the invasive species often feeds on native organisms and may even cause local extinction of a species.

In addition to increased competition and predation, many invasive species are responsible for spreading disease and pests. All these factors cause invasive species to cause marked reductions in populations and considerable habitat degradation. For this reason, they are considered one of the greatest current threats to the environment.

Invasive species may occur entirely naturally, but the most common is the introduction of new species by humans. As man spreads around the planet, more species are moved from one area to another, either accidentally or purposefully. The introduction of new species into an area may be favored by high migration rates, colonization of new areas and increased agriculture and livestock, for example.

What is it like on Mars? Please type 6 good answers.
valkas [14]
It's red because of rusty iron in the ground. Like Earth, Mars has seasons, polar ice caps, volcanoes, canyons, and weather. It has a very thin atmosphere made of carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and argon. There are signs of ancient floods on Mars, but now water mostly exists in icy dirt and thin clouds.

How many grams of K2CO3 would you need to put on the spill to neutralize the acid according to the following equation? 2HBr(aq)+
Mkey [24]

Full Question:

A flask containing 420 Ml of 0.450 M HBr was accidentally knocked to the floor.?

How many grams of K2CO3 would you need to put on the spill to neutralize the acid according to the following equation?

2HBr(aq)+K2CO3(aq) ---> 2KBr(aq) + CO1(g) + H2O(l)

Answer:

13.1 g K2CO3 required to neutralize spill

Explanation:

2HBr(aq) + K2CO3(aq) → 2KBr(aq) + CO2(g) + H2O(l)

Number of moles = Volume * Molar Concentration

moles HBr= 0.42L x .45 M= 0.189 moles HBr

From the stoichiometry of the reaction;

1 mole of K2CO3 reacts  with 2 moles of HBr

1 mole = 2 mole

x mole = 0.189

x = 0.189 / 2 = 0.0945 moles

Mass = Number of moles * Molar mass

Mass = 0.0945 * 138.21  = 13.1 g

Claude spends $315 to rent a car. The car he rents costs $45 per day. He has a coupon for 2 free days. Complete the equation bel
Julli [10]
$315 is your total cost of all
rent = 45 * numbers of days
d = numbers of days
45d
2 days free
45(d-2) = 315
Divide 45 to both sides
d-2 = 7
Add 2 to both sides
d = 9
So he rented for 9 days.
Hope this helps
