Advantages are it’s somewhat less biased and more anonymous however disadvantage is you never know if the people might know you or have a pre set opinion on the topic

Explanation:

The peer court provides an alternative justice system for young people who have committed a criminal act. These young offenders are subjected to sentence by their own peers, with the sole purpose of encouraging them to make amends in their negative behavior. It creates an environment for self improvement and inculcates a positive attitude towards rules and regulation. Peer court also provides programs such as Alcohol Awareness program, screening test for drug/alcohol and evaluation.

Some of the disadvantages of Peer court are:

Participation is not enforced. It is a voluntary.

Funding. Funding this system is quite a lot of work and requires total commitment  without lapses.

It has a long waiting list which could be discouraging.

Youth offenders and/or parents may be unwilling to accept mentoring system.
