This is antonym/contrast.  Antonym means the opposite.  This is used to define tame.  Tame is the cat sleeping (these are the same), and "wild when awake" is the comparison since sleeping and awake are the total opposites as are tame and wild.  There is not definition/example, so you can't use that, which rules out all of the above, and since we are comparing to like things, it is not a synonym.

I believe it is synonym/compare. It shows the reader that tame is like sleeping peacefully. Then it compares when it is awake and wild.
