In the late 1800s, the immigration rate of the Chinese had decreased because of the government legislation of the United States. The reason why there was an immigration of Chinese to America was that the Chinese wanted to escape poverty, political unrest, unemployment, natural disasters, and war, and they wanted to seek a new life and fortune in America.
