Well if you think about it, you are given 2 equations. lets say the 2 numbers ar x and y

it says one number that we willl call y is 4 times another number we will call x. so:
y = 4 * x

the other part says their difference is 24. well y has to be the larger number sincenit is 4 times x. so:
y - x = 24

in the first part i said y = 4x so i know what y equals. i can plug this into thenother equation like this
y - x = 24
(4x) - x = 24
3x = 24
x = 8

i have x. i can plug this in first equation to find y
y = 4x
y = 4 (8)
y = 32

we can checj by plugging in x and y to both equations. if it matches we are.good

y = 4x
32 = 4 (8)
32 = 32

y - x = 24
(32) - (8) = 24
24 = 24

it all works out

What is the area of the square? Perimeter =108mi. 27 width
Leni [432]

Answer:

729 square units

Step-by-step explanation:

If the width of the square is 27, then the length is also 27. After all, this is a square with four equal sides.

The area of a square is A = s^2, where s is the length of one side.

Here, A = 27^2 = 729 square units.

What is the area of the shaded part of the figure if =14
aniked [119]

The area of the shaded part is: 42.14 ft² .

Area of Square

Area = s²

Area of Quarter Circle

Area = 1/4πr²

Thus:

Area of the shaded part of the figure = area of square - area of quarter circle

Area of shaded part = s² - 1/4πr²

s = 14 ft

r = 14 ft

Substitute

Area of shaded part = 14² - 1/4(3.14)(14²)

= 42.14 ft²

Therefore, the area of the shaded part is: 42.14 ft² .

FrozenT [24]

Answer:

Ty covered the least distance per min.

Step-by-step explanation:

Who covered the shortest distance per minute, or who rode his bike most slowly?

Andre's rate: (750 m) / (3 min) = 250/3 m/min

Rick's rate: (800 m) / (4 min) = 200 m/min

Ty's rate: (950 m) / (5 min) = 190 m/min

Ty was the rider who covered the least distance per minute; his rate was the slowest.
