Volume of large box = 5832 in^3
Volume of shoe box = 12*6*5=360 in^3

Maximum number of shoe boxes that might fit in the large box
= 5832/360 = 16.2, or 16.

However, we have to verify the dimensions to make sure each side fits.
For example, if the large box is 18x18x18=5832 in^3,
then we can only fit, along each dimension:
18/12=1.5 => 1 (6 inches remaining)
18/6=3     => 3 (0 inches remaining)
18/5=3.6  => 3 (3 inches remaining)
That make 9 boxes.
However, we still have a gap of 6 inches that we can fit shoe boxes vertically, i.e.
6/6=1 row
18/12=1 row
18/5 = 3 rows
That will fit 3 more boxes for a total of 9+3=12 boxes (instead of 16 boxes).

So 16 is the MAXIMUM number of boxes (according to volume).
The actual number of boxes will depend on the dimensions of the large box.  18x18x18 was given just as an example.

Answer:

It lets me add one now! The answer is 3.75

Step-by-step explanation:

1/4 of a unit is 25%

When converted to a decimal, 25% = .25

4 - .25 = 3.75

We can check this by using reversive property:

4 - .25 = 3.75

3.75 + .25 = 4

J and k stands for two numbers.
Katena32 [7]
2j = .5k

Let j = 5
2(5) = .5k
10 = .5k
divide both sides by .5
20 = k
When j = 5 , k = 20

How can x minus two-thirds = StartFraction 5 over 6 EndFraction be solved for x in one step?
Brums [2.3K]

Add Two-thirds to both sides

solution:

x-2/3= 5/6

We have to find how this can be solved for "x" in one step

Remember that,

We we add or subtract same number from both sides of a equation, the equation still remains true

Therefore, from given,

x-2/3=5/6

Add Two-thirds to both sides

x-2/3+2/3=5/6+2/3

x=5/6+2/3

x=9/6

Add Two-thirds to both sides to solve the sum

The length of the base of a triangle is twice its height. if the area of the triangle is 121 square kilometers, find the height
mariarad [96]
B = 2h

Area = 121
1/2 × b × h = 121
1/2 × 2h × h = 121
h × h = 121
h^2 = 121
h = square root of 121
h = 11

The height is 11 kilometers
