Both petroleum and coal are made up of complex carbon-based molecules, and both originated with living creatures of some kind. B

oth are vital sources of energy for the modern world and both were formed by geologic processes over millions of years. However, petroleum was mainly formed from the remains of ocean-dwelling microorganisms. Coal, on the other hand, originated from decayed vegetation in ancient swamps and bogs. In any case, it took millions of years for both coal and oil to be produced. This is the case because it took that much time for overlying sediments to produce the unimaginable heat and pressure that would one day allow us to harvest these energy resources. I think the correct answer would be option A. This passage uses a combination of comparison and contrast and cause and effect.  The use of "both", "however" and "on the other hand" are indications that the passage is using compare and contrast principle. Also, it states several sentences that cause why these particular substance are formed for a longer time and what are  the processes involved like the phrase "because it took that much time for overlying sediments to produce the unimaginable heat and pressure". Along with this, the effect is stated. So, most likely, the passage above is also using the cause and effect organizing principle.

An interjection is always
AleksAgata [21]

Answer:

D. intended to show feeling.

Explanation:

Interjection is the invariable word that expresses emotions, sensations, moods, or seeks to act on the interlocutor, leading him to adopt a certain behavior without the need for more elaborate linguistic structures. Take the example: "Wow! Pay attention when I'm talking!"

In the example above, the caller is very angry. All your anger translates into one word: wow!

With this we can say that an interjection is always used to show feelings.

Does Swift wish to make Gulliver's attitude towards humanity appear acceptable? Why?
NemiM [27]
I think Swift does give the "okay" for Gulliver to act the way he does because he depicts Gulliver as this sort of courageous hero who completes these magnificent feats with his wit and bravery. Swift also builds up the fantastic characters and civilizations that Gulliver visits to be better than humanity by leaps and bounds. The stark contrast between these fictional civilizations and the people of England is so blatant that the reader can't help but be negatively biased toward the English. Gulliver acts as the intermediary between humanity and what humanity could be when he visits these lands, almost as a diplomat, when he inquires about their cultures and lifestyles and then goes on to explain how things work in England.
