Biology

Explanation:

Carbon dioxide. This is a by-product of cellular respiration excreted through the lungs. If allowed to accumulate in the body, the pH of blood would decrease and the acidity would result to denaturing of proteins hence threatening life.

Urine & sweat. Urine contains excess water, bicarbonates and H+ ions, and other metabolites from the breakdown of biomolecules and other toxic compounds. If allowed to accumulate in the body, the normal physiological processes of the cells would be hampered due to toxicity leading to a threat to life.

Feces. This is the excretion of undigested food passing through the gut. Accumulation of undigested food in the alimentary canal would block passage of food hence  also hamper the absorption of essential elements into the body.

Why the bass and crayfish benefit from an increased level of phosphate, initially, but then die off
omeli [17]

Answer:

Increased levels of phosphate are beneficial to phytoplankton and aquatic plants. In the short-run, this means increased micronutrients for herbivorous and omnivorous fish.

The phosphate, however, reacts with the water to reduce the oxygen levels obtainable in the water. Without oxygen, the fishes die off.

It is not unusual to find that with increased phosphate in water, healthy fishes begin to die off without any other plausible explanation.

The solution is to clean the water or treat it with solutions that impact positively whilst reducing the phosphate levels.

Cheers!
