Hi there!

Larger bodies of water, such as oceans, can make the climate of land near them warm up later in the summer and cool later in the winter than places far away from an ocean.

Large bodies of water take longer to cool down and heat up, and they can also retain their temperature for much longer than regular air can. This makes the lagging temperature effect of water.

Hope this helps!

What is the potential energy in the thylakoid membrane used for?
liubo4ka [24]

The right answer is to perform photosynthesis (more precisely to convert ADP to ATP by ATP synthase).

Light comes to us in the form of photons. These photons have a different energy potential depending on their wavelength.

When a pigment picks up a photon corresponding to its absorption capacity, one of its electrons goes into the excited state. This energy can be transmitted in 3 ways: either by spreading it in the form of photon or heat; both ways lose energy. The third is to transmit resonance energy and there is almost no loss of energy.

A photosystem consists of a reaction center and a collector antenna to optimize the absorption of photons triggering photochemical reactions in order to operate the ATP synthase to produce ATP in the presence of a hydrogen gradient.

Which element has one valence electron and six energy levels?
Vadim26 [7]

There is no element with one valence electron and six energy levels. Only two valence electrons and six energy levels.

Answer:

Calcium

Explanation:

A: Calcium is a group 2 element with two valence electrons. Therefore, it is very reactive and gives up electrons in chemical reactions. It is likely to react with an element with six valence electrons that “wants” to gain two electrons. This would be an element in group 6, such as oxygen.
