The volume of a cylinder varies jointly with the square of its radius and with its height: V=kr2h Cylinder A has a volume of 251

Answer with Step-by-step explanation:

V=kr²h

Where r is the radius and h is the height of the cylinder

Cylinder A has a volume of 251.2 cubic inches and has a radius of 4 inches and a height of 5 inches.

⇒ 251.2=k×4²×5

⇒ 251.2=80k

⇒k=251.2/80

⇒ k=3.14

We have to find  volume of cylinder B, which has a radius of 3 inches and a height of 9 inches

r=3 inches

h=9 inches

V=3.14×3²×9

 =254.34 cubic inches

Hence, Volume of cylinder B is:

254.34 cubic inches

We break all the bracket out :

-0.75 + 2/5 + 0.4 - 3/4

2/5 = 0.4
-3/4 = -0.75
So, we have : -0.75 + 0.4 + 0.4 - 0.75
= (-0.75 - 0.75) + (0.4 + 0.4) = -1.5 + 0.8 = -0.7
