B. Helen should have added 17 to both sides of the equation.
When trying to solve an equation like that with a variable, you have to make sure both sides are even. Whatever you do to one side, you have to do to the other. So, if you add 17 to one side to cancel it out, you have to add 17 to the other side as well.

A line with a slope of -1 passes through the point (0,0). What is its equation in slope-intercept form? Please answer quickly.
rusak2 [61]

Answer:

y = -x

Step-by-step explanation:

The line has a slope of -1 and it passes through point (0,0)

Taking another point (x,y) on the line;

Slope = change in y ÷ change in x

For our case; slope = \frac{y - 0}{x - 0} = -1

Cross multiplying this gives;

y = -x

One gallon of gasoline in buffalo, New York costs $2.29. In Toronto, Canada, one liter of gas costs $0.91. There are 3.8 liters
Solnce55 [7]

Answer:

Solution:

Given, One gallon of gasoline in buffalo, New York costs $2.29.

In Toronto, Canada, one liter of gas costs $0.91.

There are 3.8 liters in one gallon.

We have to find how much does one gallon of gas cost in Toronto?

Now, cost of one gallon of gas in Toronto = cost of one litre of gas in Toronto x 3.8 liters for 1 gallon.

Cost of one gallon of gas = 0.91 x 3.8 = 3.458
