Answer:

When air temperatures are high, some heat is added to the stream directly from the air (known as convection). Simultaneously, this warmer air causes more evaporation. Because energy (heat) is used to evapo- rate water, heat energy is lost from the stream when evaporation occurs, thus cooling the stream.
