Answer:

Some possible explanation as below

Explanation:

These comprise one third of the circumpolar area that circles the northern hemisphere. It is right that the Boreal forest biome has a thick layer of organic matter but the soil lacks in nutrients as :

The thickness of the soil is largely due to its cold climatic conditions. which hinders the development of a plant that is unable to take up the nutrients.

Also, the boreal forest biome is located at higher altitudes so the planets find it difficult to generate photosynthesis.

Also, large areas of the forest biome have been cleared due to lumbering practices of the Soviet Union and Canadian government which then replace it with motocross.

Another reason can be due to the climate change impact, this zone experiences increasing temperature i.e severe winters and other natural disturbances like forest fires and insects or diseases, etc.

Arrange the layers in order from oldest to youngest.
Verizon [17]

From oldest to youngest: I, B, F, M, R, H.

Explanation:

On the picture we can see several layers of rock. Some of the layers have not been disturbed, so the principle of superposition can be applied to them. Some of the layer though have been disturbed by geological processes, so the layers are not at the same level because of it. On top of it, there is also an intrusion that has managed to further cause disturbance through all of the layers.

  • The layer I is the oldest, and it is the basis of the others.
  • Layer B has formed next, and after that layer F.
  • These three layers have been influenced by the formation of fault, where one of their sides has been moving up relative to the other, while the other has been moving down relative to the other.
  • Layer M is younger layer, and it can easily be seen as it totally covers the layer F below it.
  • On top is layer R, which is the youngest of them all (the layers), and the one that comes out on the surface.
  • Layer H is not really a layer, but it is an intrusion, which has formed after magma managed to cut through all the layers and later solidify. It is the youngest formation.

Find the coordinates of the midpoint of HX
marta [7]

Answer:

M(29, -12)

Explanation:

Given:

H(4\frac{1}{2}, -3\frac{1}{4}), X(2\frac{3}{4}, -2\frac{3}{4})

Required:

Coordinates of the Midpoint of HX

Solution:

Midpoint (M) of HX, for H(4\frac{1}{2}, -3\frac{1}{4}), X(2\frac{3}{4}, -2\frac{3}{4}) is given as

M(\frac{x_1 + x_2}{2}, \frac{y_1 + y_2}{2}).

Let H(4\frac{1}{2}, -3\frac{1}{4}) = (x_1, y_1)

X(2\frac{3}{4}, -2\frac{3}{4}) = (x_2, y_2)

Thus:

M(\frac{4\frac{1}{2} + 2\frac{3}{4}}{2}, \frac{-3\frac{1}{4} + (-2\frac{3}{4})}{2})

Convert to improper fractions

M(\frac{\frac{9}{2} + \frac{11}{4}}{2}, \frac{-\frac{13}{4} + (-\frac{11}{4})}{2})

M(\frac{\frac{18 + 11}{2}}{2}, \frac{\frac{-13 - 11}{4}}{2})

M(\frac{\frac{29}{2}}{2}, \frac{\frac{-24}{4}}{2})

M(\frac{29}{2}*2, \frac{-24}{4}*2

M(29, -12)

Briefly describe what has happened (or is happening) to each of the following modes of public transportation in U.S. cities?
algol13
The trolleys have been reduced over the last decades, after their initial increase as a public transportation, when new and better ways were discovered/produced for transport, their decline has started.
The buses since their invention, had grown in number and became a very important part of every city's public transportation, and still are.
The rapid transit is the most recent one of the mentioned in here. It's popularity has grown, number increased, and is very practical because it is not causing traffic mess. It is very important transport asset nowadays and makes lives of millions of people much easier.
