There are three layers dividing planet earth namely the mantle, core and the crust, and it also has physical spheres one of which is lithosphere. The lithosphere is the earth's solid shell made up of the upper portion of the mantle and the entire crust.

Its thickness, it ranges from 50 km -280 km with varying thicknesses due to both thick continental and thin oceanic crust. It contains different types of rocks and minerals at a different depth from the earth's surface. On the surface of the lithosphere, there is abundant sedimentary rock, but as the depth increases, there are metamorphic and igneous rocks.
