The power of government comes from the people.

This concept is known as the "consent of the governed." This idea, implemented in the preamble, was an Enlightenment idea discussed by philosophers like John Locke. In his book Two Treaties of Government Locke discusses how the government derives its power from the people, as they should have the ability to elect officials into office who will best serve their needs. This is why the Founding Fathers implemented this idea into the preamble.

The war also provided a stimulus for inventions in production, materials and advertising. Immediately after the war there was a small slump but from 1922 the USA experienced an unprecedented economic boom.

What were the main causes of the Great Depression in the United States?
MrRissso [65]

The stock market crash started it all.

Explanation:

The stock market crash of 1929 touched off a chain of events that plunged the United States into its longest, deepest economic crisis of its history. It is far too simplistic to view the stock market crash as the single cause of the Great Depression. ... By 1929, companies had expanded to the bubble point.
