If you switch it around, it becomes 19 - 4 = 5x

19 - 4 = 15

15 ÷ 5 = 3

x = 3

Hope this helped☺☺

Hello, there!

5x + 4 = 19

Answer: 3
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Explanation:

To solve this, we will do the following:

We want to isolate the x. This means that we want x to be on one side by itself

To do this, we will subtract 4 from each side to keep 5x by itself on the left side. We must subtract 4 from each side because whatever you do to one side, you must do to the other side. This way, the value of the equation will still stay the same.

5x + 4 = 19
      -4      -4

5x = 15

We now have 5x = 15

Now, we want to simplify this wequation.

What is the greatest common actor of 5x and 15?

The GCF of 5x and 15 is 5

So, we must divide each side by 5 to get our final answer

\frac{5x}{5} =   \frac{15}{5}

x = 3

So, our final answer is x = 3

I hope I helped!

Let me know if you need anything else!

Allan drew a polygon with 4 sides and 4 angles. All four sides are equal. None of the angles are right angles. What figure did A
Lady_Fox [76]

Answer: The figure drawn by Alan is a rhombus.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Allan drew a polygon with 4 sides and 4 angles with two properties:-

  • All four sides are equal.
  • None of the angles are right angles.

We know that only a rhombus is a flat shape with 4 equal straight sides and 4 angles .All sides have equal length. Its angles need not to be right angle.

Therefore, the figure drawn by Alan is a rhombus.

Which of the following is a solution of y > |x| - 5? a.(4, -1)
B.(-1, -4)
C.(-4, 1)
Savatey [412]
Fill your inequality in with the y and x provided and then do the math. (4, -1) would fill in like this (I will use brackets to indicate absolute value symbols, since there are none in the equation editor): -1\ \textgreater \ [4]-5 The right side is in fact equal to the left side so that's not the answer. For (-1, -4): -4\ \textgreater \ [-1]-5 and these are also equal. Let's try C now (-4, 1): 1\ \textgreater \ [-4]-5. The absolute vale of -4 is 4 so 4 - 5 = -1 which is, in fact, less than 1. So C is our answer.
