The win at all costs attitude helped Rockefeller to become the richest man of his time. He considered himself as the fittest and was able to acquire stock in various companies. The problem with this attitude is that it may lead to negative externalities in society such as loss of good jobs

The Inca empire and civilization was located in the high mountains which are now the site of the famous Machu Pichu ruins left behind by them in the place they settled.

The Maya also were society that was primarily found inland.

It was the Aztecs who had mastered a form of sophisticated architecture and farming in the river basins and in the middle of the rivers too.

It ended up covering most of the Meso American area with how successful it became due to its economy based on agriculture.
