I would say the correct answer is A. <span>Both insist that drastic action requires a statement of rationale. Both excerpts establish frameworks for their respective causes. They have to justify challenging the status quo. Jefferson's goal is to proclaim independence from the British crown, which had hitherto been considered normal and natural. Similarly, Stanton advocates women's suffrage in a society which had thought that women couldn't make political decisions.</span>
