 when u have a common a denominator then you just add the numerator that would be 7 and 9. 7 + 9= 16
so ur solution would be 16/22 and then u would simplify by dividing both values by 2.
so the solution is8/11

You need a common denominator. You already have one. So add 7+9=16. Put 16 over 22. That's your answer without reduction.

When you reduce it, divide it by 2 since its an even number.

16/22=8/11

How many 1-inch cubes will fit into a 3 and 1/2 in rectangular prism?
alexandr402 [8]
Suppose the height of the prism is 1 in, then the volume will be:
volume=length×width×height
thus
volume of the prism will be:
V=3×1/2×1
V=1.5 in³

Volume of the cube will be:
v=1×1×1=1 in³
Thus the number of cubes that will be in the prism will be:
(1.5 in³)/(1 in³)
=1.5 cubes~2 cubes

Find the volume of the solid whose base is the region in the first quadrant bounded by y=x3, y=1, and the y-axis and whose cross
Andrew [12]

For a given x in the interval [0, 1], the corresponding cross-section is a semicircle with diameter d=1-x^3, so the area of the cross-section would be \frac{\pi d^2}8.

The volume of the solid is then

\displaystyle\frac\pi8\int_0^1(1-x^3)^2\,\mathrm dx=\boxed{\frac{9\pi}{112}}
