Answer:

B. The Catholic Church could not effectively suppress the spread of Protestant ideas.

Explanation:

The use of the printing press became really intense during the Protestant Reformation undertaken by Martin Luther. The Lutheran pamphlets, which began to be published in 1517, began to be shot in the printing presses of the various German principalities sympathetic to the reformist cause. This spread of Luther's writings through the printing press began an unprecedented revolution in the practice of reading, since, before that, the delay in making a handy copy of a document was enormous. With the printed, hundreds were made in a single day, with that, the Catholic Church could not suppress the spread of Protestant ideas.

The answer is B: As an Adverbial Prase.   A <em>Prepositional Phrase</em> includes a preposition, its object and its modifiers. The Prepositional Phrases can function as <em>adverbial phrases or adjective phrases</em> to modify other words in the sentence. In the example, " Hearing the key<em> in the lock</em>" and "...dashed <em>to</em> <em>the front door</em>." in and to are <em>prepositions </em>that are used to form the two prepositional phrases: "in the lock" and "to the front door."
