Given: -
 Value of boat = $23,400
Loss of value by boat per year = 8%
To find: -  Monthly percent decrease in value of boat.
Solution: - Decrease of value per year = 8% of $23,400 = $1,872. Monthly decrease in value = $1,872/12 = $156. Monthly percentage decrease = ($156/$23,400) * 100 = 0.6667 or 0.67 (rounded to nearest hundredth)

Can somebody explain this to me when 2du = 16xdx ???
tamaranim1 [39]
When you set u=4x^2+4, you end up with the differentials \mathrm du=8x\,\mathrm dx. Multiplying both sides by 2 gives 2\,\mathrm du=16x\,\mathrm dx.

Then the integral is

\displaystyle\int_0^1\frac{16x}{(4x^2+4)^2}\,\mathrm dx=\int_4^8\frac2{u^2}\,\mathrm du=-\frac2u\bigg|_{u=4}^{u=8}=-2\left(\frac18-\frac14\right)=\frac14

Joey’s pizza sells large cheese pizzas for $12.00. Each additional topping costs $0.50. Basketball Boosters bought 12 large pizz
nata0808 [166]

Answer:

So first you do $0.50 x 3 = 1.5

then you add that to $12.00

$12.00 + 1.5 = 13.5

13.5 is the cost of one pizza.

Since they bought 12:

The total cost of the 12 pizza is $162 <== not important

<u>13.5 divided by 8 is 1.687</u>

<u>round 1.56875 to the nearest cent 1.7 = $2</u>

so each slice costs $2

Derrick lives 3 miles from the park. He rode his bicycle to the park at an average speed of 9 miles per hour. How many minutes d
Bingel [31]
Hey there!

Since we don't know how many hours it took, we'll say 9 mph = 3 miles/x hours. To solve, we multiply both sides by x. 9x = 3 Dividing both sides by 9, we get that it took 3/9 hours or 1/3 hours. How many minutes are 1/3 hours? 20, so it took Derrick 20 minutes. Hope this helps! :)

Hugs!
