I must assume you meant 251 / 4 (not 25 1/4).

251
-----
  4
====
   -3
-------
     8

can be evaluated by inverting the second fraction and multiplying the result:

251       -8
-----  * -----
   8        3

The 8s cancel, leaving us with -251/3.  Note that -248/3 = -83, so that the magnitue of -251/3 must be a little larger than -83.

251 divided by 3 is 83 with a remainder of 2:  251/3 = 83 2/3

So -251/3 = -83 2/3 (answer)

Jenna made money babysitting, and she also earned $20 cleaning her neighbor's basement. During the week, her total earnings were
Firlakuza [10]

Answer:

Jenna spent 7 hours babysitting.

Step-by-step explanation:

With the information provided, you can say that Jenna's total earnings are equal to the amount she earned cleaning her neighbor's basement plus the result of multiplying the charge per hour for babysitting for the number f hours, which is:

e=20+5x, where:

e represents the total earnings

x is the number of hours

Now, you can replace e with 55 that is the toal amount she earned and solve for x:

55=20+5x

55-20=5x

35=5x

x=35/5

x=7

According to this, the answer is that Jenna spent 7 hours babysitting.

Two students are registered for the same class and attend independently of each other, student a 90% of the time and student b 7
IRISSAK [1]

The probability of student A is 15/44

Given student A is 70% of time and student B is 60% of time

We need to find the probability of student A

Using formula of conditional probability is P(X/Y) = P(X and Y) / P(Y)

Here X = A and Y = A or B

Therefore,

P(A/A or B) = P(A and (A OR B) / P (A or B)

Now, There is none complement for at least 1

We know that Student A attends 70 % of time

So , his absence is 30% of the time .

Hence the probability of absence is 0.3

Now Considering B in the similar way

We get,

Probability of the absence is 0.4

They are both absent (0.3)(0.4)= 0.12

Here we can say that 12 % of time both are absent

So one or another present on that time is 88%

The probability of present of the time is 0.88

Now calculating the probability,

P(A/A or B) = P(A and (A OR B) / P (A or B)

= 0.3/0.88

= 30/88

= 15/44

Hence the Probability Of A is 15/44
