Parents at times feel like all they want to do is ruin your life. there just trying to help you. what your doing is not pointing you view it is talking back. just have a talk with your mom tell sorry and ask her next time calmly if she can see your point of view and if says no then be mature about it and say ok. she is your mo for all you care. hoped i helped.

What was the solution to the debate over the slave status of new territories in the Kansas-Nebraska Act?
seraphim [82]

Answer: Popular Sovereignty

Explanation:

Prior to the Kansas-Nebraska Act, the slave status of a new territory would be decided by the Missouri Compromise which based the state's slave status on geographical location as it prohibited slavery in states to the North of the 36°30′ parallel (excluding Missouri).

In 1854 however, a bill that would later be known as the Kansas-Nebraska Act was introduced to Congress by Sen. Stephen A. Douglas who hoped to gain support from Southern politicians for a state to be established on land gained from the Louisiana purchase.

The bill called for the status of a state to be decided by Popular Sovereignty which essentially meant that the people of the state would decide whether or not they wanted to be a free state instead of Congress as had previously been the case.

With this act therefore, the new territories would decide their status by themselves.

Why do you think Hester comes back? What’s her reasoning?
Anika [276]

Answer:

After Dimmesdale’s death, and the subsequent death of Roger Chillingworth, Pearl and Hester leave Boston and go abroad. After many years, Hester returns alone and lives quietly in the same cottage she had previously occupied. She still wears the scarlet letter, and becomes a kind of wise woman who other townspeople can come to for advice. The narrator explains Hester’s decision to return to New England by stating that “here had been her sin; here, her sorrow; and here was yet to be her penitence.” Although she might have wanted to start a new life, Hester is eventually drawn back to the place that holds memories of her past.
