Long Answer. READ THE "explanation"!!! But try to get through it without falling asleep. Also check it. I tried my hardest.

An author of mystery can build suspense because of the mystery. The mystery makes this suspensful because of the ( ie ) crime scene. This can help the popularity of the series by keeping the reader A. Hooked and B. Cliffhung. Cliffhangers are normally used in mystery, which helps build suspense in between chapters, books, episodes, etc. By doing this, an author of mystery can help build suspense.
